Last weekend our family moved to a new home just 12 minutes door to door from our old home. Still the same zip code, but my kids will be at a new school, and our church congregation will be different, too. Actually, as the crow flies, it may only be a 5 minute drive, but we have to go through neighborhoods on twists and turns.
I’ve wanted to change some things about my business, and I think now is a great time to do so.
I am loving my new home. More space, and since we started the building process last September, I got to pick the little details. I never dreamed I’d love my home so much. Giddy is a word I’ve been feeling.
Here are a few snaps of my life in the past week–some taken by me, some by my kids.

Your home is stunning. Love the stairs, what a statement!
Wow I love your house! Love the wood work. What was with the carpet in the kitchen if you picked every detail? Is it something you thought you wanted then changed your mind?
Oh by the way LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR GREEN BABY!!!
Beautiful! Love the wood floors. I was wondering the same thing as Erin. I hope you get things organized and moved out of boxes quickly and back into a routine. Will the kids continue in their old school till the end of the year?
LOVE the green cabinet!!

Yay! I love it! It is gorgeous. So excited for you.
The wood flooring is gorgeous! And I am glad that your green baby made it safely.
I think we used to attend the same building. Sad that I never got a chance to meet you!
Thanks everyone! I just finished painting the armoire the green. We bought it 7 years ago and it was a light wood that I haven't loved. The green is a benjamin moore color, Sycamore I think? It's a pottery barn shade. The floors–we actually wanted wood all along, but the builders mark it up so much that we asked them to put in carpet (we had to put in something for it to pass code) and we bought our own wood–$1.89 a sq. ft.!). We actually got a credit in the kitchen b/c carpet is cheaper than tile:)
Love it! Was going to ask what color the armoire was- I was thinking of painting my son's dresser in a similar color!
So excited for you in your new space!

Kristen, it has been fun and a learning experience to see/read of your flowering photog. business through The Idea Room blog. Love your new home…we'll have you take our family photo WHEN we can get everyone in one place at the same time and when Cameron graduates from HS. Hope you'll still be in the Austin area in 3 years.
I'm so happy that you are in your new house and that your wood floors turned out so beautifully. I love the color of the armoire too.

How fun. Love the wood. I don't know, though…carpet in the kitchen might have been a fun adventure.
