Tara from Tara Dara Made It has some beautiful pictures display to share with us today! I lovely wall arrangement and fabulous landscape canvas trio below…take it away, Tara!

So how many of you have had really great photos and always think to yourself that you need to get them printed and up on the wall or in a frame?

*raises hand*

me too.

I’m so happy to be with you today as it has encouraged me and made me get those photos printed and up!

The lovely thing about having a large wall in your home is that you can decorate it any way you want.

I have always loved photographs and have always displayed them proudly.

I have a few little vignettes within our home.

I love these two pictures … they’re of British Columbia!

For me, it always starts with a handful of frames, but it’s now growing in to an ‘art wall’ aka. a photo wall.

The turquoise canvas picture in the center was made with Mod Podge photo transfer medium and I’ll be doing a tutorial on how to do it on my blog in a couple of weeks. Please stop by to see how you can do that too! I love that you can personalize and get a bit artsy with your photos. They don’t all have to be in frames.

Speaking of frames, you might also be wondering how we’ve gotten all the frames matching black?

Let me just tell you that Goodwill and a can of black spray paint have played a large part in the making of this project.

But I love the little punches of aqua amongst the black, too.

I’m loving the ability to showcase the various stages of our lives. Going through these pictures of the boys has brought back a flood of memories for me and I wished I’d do this more often. If you’re like me, you have a computer memory FULL of precious photos of your family that you don’t visit nearly enough. We take SO MANY PICTURES and they stay in this little box sitting on our desk in our office. It drives me crazy that they stay in there. I always say that I’m going to get them printed. Sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. I think I’m not alone in this. Life is busy.

THEN….

Then there are photos on my walls that have been up for years because I’m too complacent to change them out. It’s simply just being lazy. Plain and simple. However, in saying that, I’m happy with the photos that are up on the wall. I’m happy that I get to revisit my little baby boys as baby boys and not at 5 and 7 year olds as I see them daily. It’s refreshing to be brought back to those baby giggles and those ‘baby’s firsts’ through those ol’ framed photos. It’s sometimes my boys’ saving grace when they’re acting up and they run away from me in to the rooms with the cutest pictures of them and I’m stopped in my tracks to look at those ‘cute’ pictures. Then I’m mush … well, let’s be honest, I still chase them till I catch them!!! Cause that’s the mom I am … HA!!!

As much as I love photos of my kiddos, I also am a sucker for photos of landscapes of beautiful places I’ve been or lived.

This particular photo I had made into a canvas trio is taken by a classmate of mine that I’ve know since I was 6! It’s of my home in Beautiful British Columbia! This is my very first canvas print. I’ve always been hesitant to get a photo blown up and put on a canvas because it just seems to be more ‘permanent’ or something. I dunno, it’s just seems to be more a big deal than getting it printed on paper. So, I’ve always been cautious in doing it. Well, when I saw this photo of back home, I KNEW I wanted it up on my wall displayed loud and proud for ALL to see. So, I did it.

A tip: GROUPON {or different deal sites} often has deals on canvas prints. That’s how I did it and am very pleased with the quality and outcome. I did upgrade to the thicker gallery wrap, but totally worth it in my eyes. It does that photograph justice {for me}.

So, in closing, I encourage all of you to take a look around your laptop, your desktop, and your external hard drives that is home to all those amazing photographs and expose them. Expose them to your home. Expose them to your visitors to your home. It gives your home life.

Photographs make your home a ‘home’.

They are the conduit to your past for visitors. They are a reminder of all the amazing times experienced in your life. People LOVE stories. People are visual creatures. If you have photos that you’ve wanted to print, do it! But don’t stop there. Print them, and get them UP ON YOUR WALL or on your desk where you can see them and ENJOY them!

I hope this has inspired you to get those pictures from your computer in to frames!
