Decorating with Portraits by Southern Lovely

I am so excited to be helping to kick off Kristen’s new series, Decorating with Portraits. I adore Kristen & her blog, so this is a really great honor to be here!

I’m Lindsay, and I have a little blog called Southern Lovely. I am a mother to three children who keep me running nonstop all day. I started my blog in an effort to have some ‘me’ time. I had just had my third child & desperately needed a creative outlet. Hence, Southern Lovely was born.This new series of Kristen’s couldn’t have come at a better time, since I just finished our living room with a new portrait wall.

I recently purchased a new canvas of my three children. It is one of my most favorite pictures. My little boy was only 4 days old in it, and it happened to be the day that we brought him to our home for the first time. I love the way his sisters are smiling, so happy to finally have him in our family. It will hold a very special place in my heart for years to come.

With that being said, I wanted to find the perfect place for it. I knew my living room was in need of a change–it’s been decorated pretty much the same for the last few years.
I bought a new shelf–which I painted & glazed, added a few other decorations & two more pictures. I love the saying that sits below the shelf–because together really is a great place to be.

Now whenever I pass this room and see the beautiful picture of my three children, I smile. It is a great reminder of how blessed I am to be their mother & to have this very sacred calling in life.Thanks so much for letting me be apart of this Kristen!
