My friend Jill and her family came to me for their first family portraits–ever. Her husband said it hadn’t been since his wedding that he had been profesionally photographed, and thought it was time. I agreed. On the inside, my jaw dropped (I am slightly addicted to regular family portraits)…he said he just doesn’t like being in pictures. But he had a friend at work say that just he and his kids do it at least once a year, as well as family portraits once a year. Wow, what a friend! With this in mind, I slightly worried he wouldn’t have fun, but he really seemed to enjoy himself…Whew! I photographed Jill and her cute littlest man in May, she is the creative mind behind my logo and the cover of my book, so I THANK her in my heart every day for that!
Oh my, I just love the shot on the left of mom and daughter. I had to include the right to show off Jill’s cute shirt in the back:) An equally happy look on her daughters face in both…having a little fun with mom.
So I ask again…how often do you schedule family portraits? Once a year? Every other year? Never? Just curious…

Every.Single.Year….at least once, sometimes two or three times…but I am SO lucky that my boys are SO cooperative with me and will indulge me all the time. I am not nearly as good as you, but I’m working with my “say NO” book and I’m going to get better! Thanks for your inspiration!!!

Beautiful family, gorgeous pictures! I sure have a thing for little baby boys–especially since just having one of my own.
We try to take a family picture once a year–usually for our Christmas card. If we lived closer to each other, I would totally have YOU take ours. Just sayin’.

Not often enough.
We did a mini session as a family with the dog a few weeks ago, and did 2 poses. Prior to that it was 2009. I have a shoot scheduled for November for family pictures.
LOVE this lot of photos. Such a cool family. Totally inspired me. ;o)
