Family love…

I have a bunch of photo shoots I never got to post on my blog.  I will sporadically throw them in, since this IS a photography blog and not my family blog!  Well, this family actually is my family.  My little bro and his lovely wife and adorable red haired son.  She is also expecting another little one (just found out its a girl–yay!) so she is pushing her tummy out in a shot.  I have been blessed to have them just 1.5 hours away the past 3 years, and I am sad that they are moving next summer, unsure where (crossing fingers for Texas).  He is going to do residency because he is going to be a big bad doctor here pretty soon.  This little bro is 4 years younger than me, and I brought him along on many excursions in high school and summers home from college as my little side kick.  He listened to my woes, and lifted me up when I needed it.  I taught him to not be afraid of “feminine things” and counseled him on how to treat a girl.   He is the peacemaker in our family. Here is reason #37 why I love his wife.  I handed her down all the cutest clothes from my boys, and every time she comes to visit, she intentionally dresses her little man in something I gave her.  It means SO much to me, even here, he is wearing one of my favorite shirts that my now 10 year old son wore when he was one.  It’s amazing that a shirt can bring back memories and a sting to my eyes.    He married a good one…

Do you want to know another reason I love them?  They love and play with my kids.  Even though for her, they are not even her blood…I’ll admit, I’m not that great of an aunt.  She teaches them songs of her youth that I have never even heard of…(she did grow up in that weird state, California).

Funny enough, she grew up only an hour away from my hubby in California, they even had the same dentist!  But my hubby is a good 11 years older than her!  (He is 3 older than me, and she is 4 younger than my bro–you got that math?)

  LOVE these 3!

Love the tummy pose shot. :) Super cute family, you capture their happiness well!
And OH, how you nail my own personal feelings on hand-me-downs… one of the most powerful little things, seeing a nephew in one of our now-so-big sons’ favorite old shirts. Love it.
