Family Pictures in the Snow

It’s been a dream of mine for a while to take family pictures in the snow (I did it once with my family, but no one can really tell it was snow, see here).  Just a few days before I flew to Utah last week, I contacted my friend Amy from The Idea Room and asked if she was game. I took their family pics a year and a half ago here and three years ago here. We were due for a shoot!  It was pretty darn chilly, and I think we were done after about 20 minutes. Her kids were troopers!!! Here’s a little peek into our fun!

Next I want to do a shoot with the snow falling….I’ll have to have a family on call for that!

  5. Love that last picture of the kids. And I love snow! I always wondered how people pulled off sessions when it’s so cold!?

  6. Jacqueline says:

Somebody did a great job choosing colors – it’s harder to coordinate when you’ve got jackets involved.
Wouldn’t the lighting be tricky with falling snow?

  7. My boss shot this session just before Christmas with friends of his, she had really wanted the snow to actually be falling and it started halfway through! Gotta love moments like that. I love your snuggly shot with the kids — families should be photographed like that!
