Happy Halloween!!!

halloween fun

My left to right: LaLaLoopsey–Crumbs Sugar Cookie to be exact (same theme as her birthday party last spring). I’ve got a BYU football player, a warrior, and a vampire. This was from our church Fall Festival last Saturday, they’ll look this same tonight;) For myself, I got just 2 accessories to make my costume, can’t decide if I’m a kitty cat or a cheetah. I like cheetah. It is easy and fun! Now for a… Continue Reading

Halloween Bat Photo Collage

Halloween Bat Photo Collage by Kristen Duke

Last Friday, I shared a guest post on Eighteen25′s Spooktacular September, my Halloween Bat Photo Collage. In case you didn’t click over to see that, I’ll share it with you today.  I love it so much! I love everything about Halloween, and as a photographer–I love anything to do with pictures as well–especially of my sweet family. So I combined those two loves and pulled out photos from our family Halloweens past to make this… Continue Reading

Glow in the Dark Halloween Bat project

110

I made this Glow in the dark Halloween bat project 2 years ago, and didn’t want it to get lost in the archives, so I’m pulling it out for re-display! I still LOVE it!!! This is how I decorated my mantel around it the past 2 years, I need to figure out how to still display it this year, while changing it up some. When it isn’t holiday time, I like to have my 24×36… Continue Reading

Couples Halloween Party

photo backdrop couples halloween party

For the past 5 years or so, I’ve organized a Couples Halloween Party at my home, filled with spooky food, scary games, and great conversation. I have a love/hate relationship with this affair. I love it because it is SO fun to get together with our friends, see the crazy costumes people come up with, find out funny and new stories from said friends, and eat a bunch of festive Halloween food. Not so fun… Continue Reading

I thought I’d share some fun pics from Halloween’s past as well as my home decor today and some decorating with Halloween pictures ideas.  For halloween this year, I found some funky eyelashes to go with my peacock costume, and I think I’ll just have to have cool eyelashes every year for halloween…they rock!  So many young children  just stared at me as I walked around with them… {taken with my cell phone and edited with… Continue Reading

Halloween Lunch Jokes

LUNCH JOKES - Halloween Edition websized

As I was preparing my kids lunches this morning, and then making a “boo” gram for them to be delivered on Halloween (student council does this), I looked up some halloween jokes and decided I NEEDED to make a weeks worth of Halloween Lunch Jokes Printables to share with you!  I whipped these bad boys out from the templates Aimee from Sprik Space helped me with at the beginning of the school year.  So for… Continue Reading

Halloween Treat~ Melted Witch

6

I saw these a while ago on pinterest, and knew I had to make them!  I love my Wilton chocolate melter.  I got it a few years ago, and it keeps the chocolate warm while dipping.  I add a little oil to thin out the chocolate, too. I used a chocolate mint, the bright green Halloween melted wafers (found at Wal Mart with orange, too), pretzels, and molded yellow starbursts for the broom.  1 side… Continue Reading

Hooray! I have to give a shout out to Lorie from Be Different…Act Normal. She has offered great advice and guidance the past week. I am lucky that she lives close by and we were able to brainstorm in person! Here is a little tutorial on how to make the sweet treats for the family (in case you need costumes this weekend): I must first say that my awesome neighbors were my models (plus my… Continue Reading

Batty for Halloween~my crafty project

1

Finished this 24×36 bat artwork today, and I’m so excited to share this beauty!  I LOVE it!!!  Every once in a while, I get an itch to do craft projects, and this fall I’ve got a loooong list.  I LOVE halloween and I’ve been so excited to decorate for the holidays in my new home. I didn’t want to put all my spooky stuff around my pier canvas, I thought they would compete for attention, so I knew… Continue Reading

Better than Delicious~Pumpkin Cream Cheese Roll

pumpkin cream cheese roll

Well, I got several recipes once I mentioned my craving for this delectable treat.  First was from Jackie (an event coordinator in Indiana), so I used hers right away because I had all the ingredients on hand!  I had no idea the unique method of making this, so I thought I’d document the process. It was late at night and I didn’t want to dig out my flash, so these are pretty dark (this first one was… Continue Reading
