Comment Appreciation Gift

I love blogging.  I love to purge my thoughts and share the fun things I am doing because I also love to read what others are doing and be inspired.  Inspired to be a better mother, homemaker, artist, and friend.  To think that people care to read my blog, is quite humbling.   And when I hear from those reading that they were inspired by something I shared, makes me overjoyed!  I LOVE reading others blogs, and I… Continue Reading

I’m baaack!

I had a fun trip, but so happy to be home with my favorite people!  There is nothing like stepping out of your normal life…into the lives of others to see how they do things…then come back refreshed and renewed to be better.    Watching my neice and nephew come home from school and immediately put their backpacks on a hook in the laundry room left my jaw to the floor and a resolve to make… Continue Reading

Reviews for my e-book

I’ve had a few people review my e-book and I wanted to share what they wrote! Char at Crap I’ve Made said this among other things, “I’m a math dork that likes very specific instructions, so the ISO chart was totally might have been my favorite part.  Not super anal and codependent?  Don’t worry!  There are dozens of pictures notated with the camera settings used and other tidbits, too!”  Sugar Bee Craft Edition did a… Continue Reading

More from my beginner photography workshop~Say NO! to auto

{Feeling slightly awkward that I’m in most of these images, but I wanted you to get a feel for the scene of the workshop} I was so excited that my pen order came in the day before the workshop! I have been planning to do this for a while, and this was the perfect event to have lots of pens with my business name on them! When they came in, I ran to my son (slightly… Continue Reading

The workshop was so much fun!!!

I can’t even describe how happy I am!  What sums it up best is that a student today said they felt so empowered.  Likewise, it is empowering for me to aid in that empowerment.  I am just elated. What I hear a lot from people that have slr cameras and shoot on auto is that they do that because they are intimidated by the camera settings or they’ve tried and just leave feeling frustrated.  Today,… Continue Reading

Prepping for the workshop

Can I just say WOW on the first day of sales on my little e-book!   It is a full time job emailing it out and making sure it gets to everyone, as well as bookkeeping.  I am so excited to hear about your experiences with the info I’ve shared.  I really do believe it will help, but remember–be patient with yourself!  Here are some pics my son took of me today and my girls, organizing all the “stuff” at… Continue Reading

I am headed to DC next month to tend to a little business as well as visit with a few friends in Northern Virginia.  I’d love to book a few sessions on Friday, February 25th in the morning before noon.  My mini travels sessions are $250 for a 30 minute session and the disc of images taken.  I’m not quite sure where I’ll be shooting yet, but in the greater Fairfax area (Emily, you are… Continue Reading

A word about Mentoring…

1

Since the announcement of my local workshop, I’ve had a bunch of emails from those out of the area asking about mentoring or an online workshop.  Let me just say I am flattered and humbled.  I decided that if you are interested in a one on one mentoring skype or phone conversation, we can do that for $100 for an hour.  As much as I would LOVE to have lengthy phone conversations and email everything I… Continue Reading

Lots of Exciting News (no, I’m not having a baby)

I made a whirlwind trip to Houston today leaving Austin at 6:30am, driving 3 hours to meet (and of course photograph) my new nephew and give my sister in law a killer back massage. I surprised them and it was SO much fun!  I brought my cutest little sidekick and she was amazing in the car (naps, treats, me singing “The wheels on the bus”).  After 6 hours of socializing, we headed back and arrived home… Continue Reading
