I have been obsessed with maxi dress for the past 5 years. When I first saw them, I fell in love. When I became pregnant with my youngest, I realized quickly it was the. greatest. pregnancy ensemble. No waistline, covered my super vein-y legs, breezy, and fashionable to boot. The only problem is that they were all spaghetti straps, and I don’t prefer that type of dress. So I’d wear a shirt under or a cardigan over and I was good. When I nursed my baby, I could continue wearing them, and that little strap/low neckline came in handy–even with the shirt underneath. When I lost the baby weight, I could still wear those same dresses because really–it didn’t matter! In the past 5 years, I’ve collected at least 10 of the beloved maxi dress, and this year grabbed a few maxi skirts. So imagine my sheer delight when I saw a few weeks ago on OldNavy.com maxi dresses with sleeves! I love the length of the sleeve, too, a half sleeve. I wasn’t quite sure of the color or the size, so I ordered a dark blue in 2 sizes and black in 2 sizes (free shipping with over $50 order and easy return if it doesn’t work out). I ended up prefering the shade of the dark blue (I have to force myself to wear black though it is classy and I love it too…I have a shorter black dress I love) and returned the other three.
The necklace and earrings are a few years ago from New York & Company. The hair? A friend at church asked me how I did it, and I really have no idea! It was a bad hair day, so I tried for an updo that wasn’t working, then went for a low ponytail, wrapped my long hair around the band, then left the rest down as a very loose bun. Got it? How many maxi dresses do you have?
