What do you think of when you hear the phrase, “cereal freestyle?”  To me, it says, “do whatever you want with the cereal, baby!” I thought I’d share a little tip for how to mix-it-up for after school snack’s, especially on the go. At our home, two days a week after school are pretty hectic, because I’m in my car driving my kids to piano and gymnastics. It’s a big pain. Especially because one of those days they get home, then we turn out the door again. I started packing snacks that were easy to take out the door, and I combined 3 of my favorite cereals to do that:

  • Kellogg’s Apple Jacks
  • Kellogg’s Fruit Loops
  • Kellogg’s Corn POPS

Seriously, my most FAVORITE cereal growing up was Kellogg’s Apple Jacks, and I love it just as much today! It brings my heart joy to see my kids loving it, too. I even told my 4 year old the other day as she was munching on Apple Jacks….”you know, when I was a kid, it was just little orange loops, now there is green and orange…” She didn’t have much to say about that, but it was fun to wax nostalgic for a brief moment.

If I had a box of cereal out after school, they’d munch and munch and munch til it was gone. I’ve started to pre portion for their sake (and my own) so they aren’t snacking out of boredom.

This is the 3rd of 5 tips I’ll be sharing as a part of a Kellogg’s campaign.
