I am in the market for a new lens…I LOVE my 50mm and I have used it almost exclusively for my portraits since I purchased it 2 years ago. First using the 1.8, then upgrading to the 1.4. I just want more options, more versatility in each session I do. Through photographer friends suggestions, I decided to rent a lens from LensProToGo dot com. They guy is great to work with. I rented the 70-200 L IS 4.0 lens. A few years ago I had NO CLUE about lenses. But now I’ve found that a really GREAT lens has the “L” behind it (just on canons), meaning the glass on the lense is pristene and allows for very sharp images. Jokes from friends say the L stands for “LOVE this lense.” The IS stands for “image stabilization” because it is a long zoom lense, the IS keeps it from shaking when shooting. The 4.0 is what I have not loved about the lense…I want a wider aperture (smaller number) and they also sell the 2.8, but it is nearly twice as much. This is a major investment, so I thought maybe I could get away witht he 4.0…so I rented it. And well, it is a fantastic lens, but doesn’t give me what I want all the way, so I may be looking at the 2.8 after all….pictures to come…I took some of my kids, but I don’t want to put my children on my biz blog, so I’ll get some of friends kids:)
