Ok, I can’t call him a senior anymore because he has officially graduated. In fact, if my calculations are correct, he leaves tomorrow on his way to BYU to begin his college career. We had been planning to photograph Reagan for a while, and his sister Bailey and her b.f.f. Nikka also came along (you’ll see them in the coming days) but we planned it all around Reagan. It was fun joyriding along in the car to downtown Austin with these 3. When I was talking to Reagan about a few details, I asked about what other clothes he brought and he said, “this is it.” Bailey told me that she tried to convince him to bring a few more options, but he wanted to keep it simple. Ok. I can do that. We had so many fun backdrops, we didn’t need clothing changes. They had scoped out a few spots and I had some in mind, together, I am pretty excited about our locations.

I had heard about the Cathedral of Junk a while back from a photographer friend. I looked it up, and it was out there in South Austin, but we found it. I was pretty happy to see Reagan’s joy upon discovering this place. A man built up a 3 story junk tower in his backyard and welcomes strangers in to view it. Have you ever heard of the phrase, Keep Austin Weird? Oh yes.

Pictures really don’t do this place justice. I’ll show more of this place with the girls. Reagan, it was fun!

As I was doing my daily Blog-stalking. I came across these beauties! They look awesome. My mom and I love the 8th and last, because you really captured the real Reagan! You are amazing. I would leave you with a witty comment of what Reagan said but he is still sleeping. Great work Kristen!
These turned out so great!! I love all of the cathedral of junk pictures! Especially the last one!

All I can say is WOW! Love them! FUN! ok, and COOL!
When we sold books there was always some random house down a long dirt road that had something similar to the tower of junk. There are some interesting folks out there, that’s for sure.
love all the cool backgrounds and this grad was totally at ease – great photos!!
Love the settings, very cool!
I have to say, these pictures make me miss Austin so much! I like that he did what he wanted in “keeping it simple.” After reading that I thought how nice that these pictures are who he really is. Nice. My favorites were the ones with the stone wall and plaster on top. But that junk pile looks amazing. Weird, but amazing!
