Ask almost anyone who knows me well, I’ll take a Capri Sun over a soda any day. When I’m at birthday parties for children, I’ll often hear the host of the party point to the cooler of sodas for the adults, then the cooler of Capri Suns for the kids. I’ll wait til they aren’t looking, and sneak a kids drink for myself. I’ve always loved the little jolt of sweet sugar I get when sipping at those cute little pouches.
However, since I’ve experienced some weight loss, I’m much more conscious of the calories taken into my body and am setting a goal each day to consume more fruits and vegetables.
I was so excited to be selected as a group of bloggers to review the new Capri Sun Super Vs . The “V” stands for…{looking over my shoulders to see if my kids are reading} Vegetables!
Yes, those sweet little juice pouches that I adore so much have come out with a fruity veggie version. It’s basically a win-win situation for me and my kids, because it’s got a serving of fruits/veggie combined and delicious! Lucky for me, they don’t know it’s got the veggies in it, it just says “V” on the pouch; I’m feeling SOOO sneaky!
Next time I’m at a kids party, if the ice chest is filled with other juice boxes, I’ll be searching for the Capri Sun Super V to get that healthy kick with the sweetness I crave. Also, have you ever tried freezing the pouches to make a slushy? My kids LOVE that…try that as an afternoon snack on a hot summer day.
As I get ready for school to start back, and I’ll need to start thinking again about packing a daily lunch, I think I might pop some of these pouches in every other day with the water bottles I’ve sent in the past. They don’t always eat the carrots or cucumbers I send, but now I know they’ll sip on these bad boys.
I’d love to hear some healthy snack alternatives that you’ve found your kids enjoy, I always need new ideas! Who wants to enter to win a $1000 or $500 Visa Gift Card? Share your healthy snack ideas in the comments to enter.

Lately I have been making homemade trail mix. Going to Sprouts and getting nuts and munchies from the bulk bins has been great. Cashews, almonds, tart dried cherries, dried edamame, sunflower seeds, pepitas and a little bit of chocolate chips. The kids have been loving it.
The fruit side of things is easy, my whole family eats fresh fruit all day long if it’s in the house. For veggies, it takes a little more work to slice up a cucumber or peppers for snacking, but it’s so worth it! Peanut butter for dip helps my youngest (pickiest!) enjoy them too.

we love apples and peanut butter, frozen grapes and nutella on graham crackers.
There’s always fruits and peanut butter (apple or banana). Right now my son is on a fruit salad kick. I add mini marshmallows – it doesn’t make it that much “worse”, but it makes it THAT much more appealing, heh! Thanks for the giveaway!
Right now we are addicted to the Quinoa Pizza Bites on ziplist.com. Healthy, easy and even packable for lunch. Yum!
For my family cutting up fruits and making them snack size makes them consume more
Apples and peanut butter are one of our favourites but we also like “mexican pizza”–fat free refried beans spread on a tortilla with low fat cheddar cheese melted on top.
My kids LOVE to dip banana slices or apple slices in either peanut butter or almond butter for a quick, easy , healthy snack. They also like to make their own trail mix,, I supply the nuts, seeds, dried fruits and chocolate chips. They mix their favorites to make their own trail mix and we store in a mason jar on the counter for easy snacking with no guilt.

for a healthy snack my son loves vanilla yogurt with whatever fruit or berries I have on hand or in season. Also a huge fan of platters I make him with cheese, apple slices, crackers, and sandwhich meat or pepperoni. We also love capri sun in this house.
bananas and peanut butter, or any fruit really, plain yogurt with honey, and my homemade pickled eggs.

I love when my little one comes home with an empty lunch box! Fruit kabobs, applebutter sandwich cut out in the shape of a bear, Rainbow bell pepper slices and hummus, good ol ants on a log aka small celery sticks topped with peanut butter and raisins:) Cute food picks and cookie cutters make eating lunches more fun for my guy:)
fruit roll ups, peanut butter n apples and kix cereal, hummus and vegies..
i try to buy fruit snacks and juices with “hidden” fruits and vegetables
Hummus and baby carrots or other veggies, fruit and nut butters, nuts, Greek yogurt with fresh fruit and granola, lean meat and cheese roll-ups, and boiled or deviled eggs all go over big in my home.
Homemade microwave popcorn! Add a little mist of olive oil and cinnamon sugar for a sweet treat.
We make green smoothies or gazpacho every day to get our veggie fix! My trick is to “give a kid a straw” and they will drink anything!

Kids like simple things. My younger sisters go crazy for slices of frozen bananas. Easy to make, and yummy!
I like to slice up bananas, top each with a tsp of crunchy peanut butter & sprinkle a grated dark chocolate on top. My kids gobble them up faster than I can make them!
A great kid-tested snack – the tortilla roll-up!
Spread peanut butter (or any other kind of nut butter) over an open flour tortilla. Sprinkle on granola and raisins. Drizzle honey on top. Roll up the tortilla into a tight cylinder, using a bit of honey along the outside edge to seal it together. Cut into pieces, or pinch in the ends burrito-style so the goodies to fall out, and you have a sweet to-go snack!
Blueberries or cherry tomatoes. When it’s really hot – blend up some fruit with a bit of honey and make the fruit puree into popsicles.
One of our families favorite after school snacks is to wrap a turkey hot dog with a slice of extra thin provolone…under 100 calories, full of protein, and delicious
We make the “green monster” smoothies with spinach, pineapple, mango, banana, plain yogurt, and honey!
Ants on a log: celery filled with peanut butter then topped with raisins. Apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon.
Apple slices sprinkled with cinnamon
The favorite is celery and apples with peanut butter. Some dried fruit and nuts are also enjoyed, as is string cheese.

My kids love just about any vegetable if they can dip it in veggie dip – so, veggie dip it is!
oops, my last tweet was wrong – here’s the right one: https://twitter.com/KerryBishop/status/244905021274214400
I always offer dip when giving veggies to kids.. Thanks kmassman gmail
My son loves veggies. As long as there is something to dip it in, he’ll eat any vegetable!
My son is just 14 months so our snack options are a bit limited but we love smoothies, string cheese and pinwheels with homemade almond butter + fruit. Some of my healthy mama friends like homemade frozen yogurt pops.
Green smoothies! My son loves them. They also make great popsicles.
My kids love apples and watermelon. My 2 year old loves cherry tomatoes and hummus.!
My boys actually love fruits and veggies so I always have fresh ones on hand!
My biggest memory of Capri Sun is that I used to have it in my lunch all the time as a kid. One time when I was in fifth or sixth grade it fermented. That was fun.
I don’t put juice in my first-grader’s lunch. He’s a water drinker, and I think has come to associate juice with his morning laxative mix.
His lunch staples are yogurt, a sandwich, and a piece of fruit, with pluots being his current fave. He prefers to get his veggies through his school’s hot lunches (which are superb) and during dinner time.
