I thought I’d give a little Christmas Home Tour, since my house has exploded with red, green, and holiday things!  I already share my Christmas Mantel a few days ago, now here is the rest. I LOVE my tall tree. I’ve had it about 2 years, and it just makes me happy. Having a big entry like this allows for it, and just looks great. It’s a pre lit tree, unfortunately one section of lights went out this year, so I wrapped a strand of white lights in that section. The ornaments are red, green, gold, and silver.

Christmas Tree at Home

Sadly, the day my home was ultra clean to take all these pictures, the weather was not cooperating and it was very dark outside. I was pushing my camera to the limits, but some are a bit grainy. It’s moody, right?

I spray painted the ladder gold, the crate green, and made that JOYFUL sign a few years ago. I have the same phrase, “tis the season to be Joyful” in a printable, CLICK HERE to get it!

Here is my front door on a good day. You can learn more about the snowman wreath here:

I got the idea to do this embroidery hoop Christmas tree from a Better Homes and Garden pin. They pulled apart an ugly sweater, but I used fabric I had. LOVE this, it was SO simple to put together! I just hung them each on some thumb tacks!

easy christmas craft

I’ve got so many Christmas knick knacks that I’ve collected over the years, they hop to different spots each year.

In front of our barn door tv cover, I’ve got this gorgeous print from Kiki Creates of the Isaiah scripture about the Savior.  The ornament swag above is from some crafty store, and the camper below, I THINK is from Hobby Lobby. That’s after it was glued back together (soccer ball in the house snafu) so I have to see if I can get another in case the glue doesn’t stick.

I like to Decorate with Pictures all year long, so I couldn’t leave out old Christmas pictures, now can I? We took these even before my 4th was born!  I just put a plate rack up on the wall, and the 8×10 prints are mounted.

I used another plate rack to hold up these mini clipboards (that are actually a chalkboard surface) with some free prints online. The reindeer print in the middle, you can find on my site HERE (along with 3 other designs) and the other two are from Love from the Oven, found HERE. (Sad phone picture below!)

Then I’ve got my glitter reindeer with a picture of my kids at a Christmas shoot a few years ago.

I love the little ladder with the lights beside the tree – adorable! And all the color – so fun!

    • Kristen Duke says:

Thank you! I was kinda worried about my over brightness because a lot of the others in the home tour blog hop are not as LOUD and BRIGHT as my decor!

      • meg says:

isn’t that the beauty of being DIFFERENT. Lots of things can be different and beautiful (plus gives people lots of options) .

  2. That’s it, I’m packing my bags and moving in! Your home is so warm and lovely and I ADORE your holiday decor! Everything is so inviting! I’ve gotten my trees up, but I really need to get in gear and get the rest up before it’s ready to come down.

    • Kristen Duke says:

It definitely helps that I have a deadline of a blog post or party to get it up! THanks so much, I’d love for you to come for a visit! I know you love bold color, too;)

  3. Nicole says:

Beautiful. I love a festive home at the holidays. My neighbor holds a cookie exchange each year just so she can talk Christmas décor with her girlfriends. It’s this Saturday, and I can’t wait to see what she’s don’t this year.

I love the sled and the gumball machine. So fun!

    • Nicole says:

Oh, and when do you take your decorations down? My son was just asking me last night because he wants to keep ours up for a “really long time.” 🙂

      • Kristen Duke says:

I love holiday gatherings, so fun to see what others do to decorate! We take ours down the beginning of January. A solid month is fitting to me!

  4. I love how everything looks so warm, and festive… but real. So very authentic and personal. Your tree is darling… adore the lights on the ladder! So fun to have that kind of space to work in. It’s tall… and pure magic!!
    Happy Holidays to you!!

  5. Great tour, Kirsten! I love the little gumball machine and sled! So cute!

  6. CUTE, Kristen! I love how colorful everything is – its a tie between the pictures of you with “Santa” and the ladder as my favorites. That tree, though… gorgeous!

  7. Catherine says:

My mother has the same nativity set as the one you have in front of the fireplace! Your tree is fantastic! The only place one that tall would fit in my house would be the MIDDLE of the living room. lol!

  8. meg says:

I love the skates on the sled. So cute! I don’t think it looks like too much… it’s great you have enough decorations to fill your home!

  9. I LOVE the ladder by your tree! What a fun and festive idea. And the JOY candy dish wouldn’t stand a chance in our house… but love that also! 😉

  10. Thank you so much for sharing your completely festive home! The pics with Santa are my fave part!

  11. I love the colour you have used throughout your home. I also love how you have incorporated family photos….the one of the kids at the Christmas shoot it so adorable!

  12. Ava says:

I love all your decorations! We are late decorating. My husband just pulled out our Christmas decorations from the attic tonight. My little girl was excited about setting up her own tree in her room again. I let her do that, and we will do the family tree next week. I’ll probably leave the Christmas stuff up later than usual…..maybe until my mom comes to visit for my daughter’s birthday in late January.

I love your idea of using a plate rack for photos and printables! That’s a great way to easily change things up!!

  13. Your whole home is lovely! The sled looks awesome with the little skates and splash of glitter. Thanks again for sharing! Merry Christmas!

  14. Anmol says:

  15. Hahahaha. I’m not too bright today. Great post!
