I’m so excited about the new family photo album I made through Black River Imaging. They are a print company I’ve switched over to in the past year, and I made my FIRST book from their Cascade system, It’s a 12×12 Press printed album with hinged pages. Each gorgeous page lays flat, so even the image that went on a two page spread look fabulous!  I’ve got a 20% discount code for any of you out there that want to make your own album (or prints)–hooray!!!

Sadly, this beautiful album is not an album for my family, but for the Law family, whom I’ve had 5 photo sessions over the past year.

They’ve been amazing clients, and I wanted to send a BIG thank you gift to them.

Since it has so many sessions in the album, it’s a good 70 pages long, so it took me a bit to build this gem. Thankfully, the Cascade system that I used to build the album was SOOO easy to just slide in images to their pre-made templates. When I first started using the new system, I placed a call to their customer service, and was pleasantly surprised to find after hours they have someone to help, too!  THAT was amazing for me, because I often don’t sit down til 8pm to work on stuff. I think they are there til 10pm central.

If you aren’t sure what “Press Printed” means from my description above, it’s simply that the pages are much thicker than regular pages, kind-of like card stock quality, but smoother. So little hands can look through it, and mom’s don’t have to stress out about it ripping, hooray! Why have a fabulous family album that can’t be looked at over and over?

  1. Can you give us a ball park as to what you paid? There are a lot if great products out there, this looks like one of them, but can I afford it?!?!?

    • Kristen Duke says:

Oh shoot, I’m so sorry! I need to look it up. For the quality of the pages, it may be more than a typical site, as it’s more of a professional product.

      • Yeah if you don’t mind letting us know how many pages it was and the cost for it? I’m looking at doing a yearly family album as well, but wanting to find one that’s not crazy expensive but worth it in quality.

  2. This sounds handy. My boys love looking through their albums and they’re already ripped a bit. Maybe I’ll actually make one for the littlest instead of letting him languish in anonymity in our family.
