Summer sessions are usually pretty slow, but I think I’ve had more this summer than ever! In Texas, it’s generally 95-100 degree’s every day, but at 9am, it might be 85, so do-able. I thought I’d share a sneak peek of a few of my recent sessions.  This first cute family, I took their portraits in Atlanta when I was there a few weeks ago. I hiked Stone Mountain with my husband, then met them at this fabulous covered bridge for pictures!

Then I traveled with my kids to the Hill Country of Texas to Wimberley (about an hour away) to meet up with this extended family at their family reunion. It was such a gorgeous location at a rented cabin in the woods that accommodated this crowd. I’d love to have my extended family gather here, if you want to take a closer look, view the inside of the cabin here.

Then I took a quick 15 hour trip to Dallas for my Say NO to Auto Workshop, and met this fabulous group of ladies. It’s always such a treat for me to see the “ah-ha” moments as others learn to use that crazy fancy camera!

My friend Tamiel hosted for me, and I took her family pictures that morning. I even had a sleepover with her the night before, where we got to talk late into the night about everything. She used to live in Austin, and we were in the same church congregation. When we met, we realized we were due within 2 days of each other, each with our 4th child, so we were pregnancy buddies–instant friends!  She introduced me to the show Cake Boss , which we’d watch at her house on the couch (cooking those babies inside our tummies), enjoying a take out lunch, while our 3rd kids played.  I ended up having my baby 4 weeks early, but they were still pretty close in age. I moved to a new house (and new church congregation) a year later, but we still kept in touch, then she moved to Dallas a  year ago. She is a dear friend of mine, that came into my life right when I needed her. My eyes are stinging as I think about her friendship. She is one of the rare friends in my life that I feel she really gets me….she got me then…she gets me now.  She’s always been a positive supporter of me, my photography, my blog, and showing genuine interest. She visited me at the hospital when I had my last baby, and took pictures of my big kids meeting their baby sister. So special to me.

I took these fun and colorful family pictures of them 3 years ago, and we had to make sure we got some updated pictures in my quick trip to Dallas, so we squeezed it in!

Don’t worry, the train tracks were not in operation…

I took some pics of mom and dad, and someone just had to jump in!

They are delightful, inquisitive, and friendly children, who clearly get a lot of love from their parents.

I then had a petite session with a gal who also attended the workshop. Her little guy was SO adorable!  He’s at the age in life where everything is just so interesting and new, and it’s fun to explore.

Have you been to my friend Ashley’s blog over at Little Miss Momma? This little guy  looks like he could be related to her sweet boys!

Then I did a mini shoot just down the street from me, and we were done so quickly because those older kids cooperated so well!
