This Road Trip Scavenger Hunt Free Printable is a life saver for those long hours in the car. It’s a fun way for the kids to look around for things they see as you drive, and stop the question, “Are we there yet?”

Road Trip Scavenger Hunt - Jessika Reed for Capturing-JoyThe Road Trip Scavenger Hunt Free Printable has fun colorful images that the kids will surely love, from cars to cows to street signs, it will keep them occupied on those family drives. While looking for ideas on how to keep my kiddos occupied online, my contributor Jessika Reed from Hip and Simple put this free printable together for all of you…isn’t she amazing?!? In addition to some favorite books, coloring books, toys, and even a couple movies, I thought it would be fun to have something fun for toddlers to entertain themselves with on road trips. So, I created this road trip scavenger hunt and am sharing the free printable with you. {This post originally published June 2015, Updated June 2017}

The printable has a variety of things for kids to keep an eye out for on the road. Jessika shares, “My kids are so little that they probably won’t completely understand the idea of a hunt but it’s fun to look at and things can be crossed off or colored on.” You can encourage your kids to cross things off as they find them and even offer incentives for the passenger who finds the most or spots them first.

Road Trip Scavenger Hunt Free PrintableMy son caught me taking pictures of this and came over to join. He was very excited and started point to each item and telling me what it was as fast as he could. I think he’ll like it on his lap while we are out on the road. Which is a plus for everyone!

  5. you have ‘flat’ instead of ‘flag’ under the flag

  6. Love these! I had some not nearly as nice when my kiddos were young… we spend a lot of time in the car. I put them in plastic sleeves and gave them dry erase pens (washable, of course!)
    They still might have fun with this on our next roadtrip! You’re never too old to play “Eye Spy”!
