Chop your favorite fruits together and turn it into fruit salsa, a delicious healthy snack any time of the year.

fruit salsa

Fruit is natures dessert. My husband has had some health issues, and decided to cut out all refined sugars in order to heal. So for the past year, I’ve altered our meal plans quite a bit. I was pretty excited to create this fruit salsa, after consulting with a handful of other clean eating recipes I found online. I combined a few to make this!

How to make Fruit Salsa

Fruit salsa is so very easy to make! Some fruits will go together better than others, this is the beauty combination that I’ve found.

The Ingredients are simple but delicious:

  • Green Apple
  • Strawberries
  • Raspberries
  • Limes
  • Honey

Without any artificial sweeteners added, it’s about as clean eating as you can get. Besides fresh fruit, it just has pure honey added to blend the flavors all together. You can serve it on it’s own, or make or purchase some cinnamon sugar chips to go with it…that will be a bit more on the indulgent side of things.

When I brought this fruit salsa to a pool party, and someone asked how much sugar I put in it, I was happy to say…. “NONE!” Since honey is a natural sugar, and my husband can eat it no problem, I count it as a sugar free WIN, but someone reminded me it’s just not refined sugar.

What do you eat fruit salsa with?

You can eat this delicious fruit salsa alone, with some yogurt, spread on toast, maybe ice cream, or with some delicious cinnamon sugar chips. I found some at my local grocery store, but you can also make them from four tortillas.

How to make cinnamon sugar chips:

If you want to make the cinnamon sugar tortillas, it’s easy!

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Spray tortillas with cooking spray or melted butter.
  3. In a small bowl, combine 1T sugar and 1T cinnamon and evenly sprinkle over tortillas.
  4. Cut each tortilla into 8 wedges and place on ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the chips are lightly browned and crisp.

Now, you can dice all of this fruit, or maybe you have a good, but I love this fruit chop wizard, it makes it nice and quick!

Fresh fruit cut up only lasts a few days before it goes bad. I give it a good solid 2 days.
