Sometimes it can be a challenge to remember the reason for the season. We love Santa and reindeer and decorated trees, but how much are we bringing in the Savior into our December traditions? I’ll admit, I don’t do as well as I should either! We have a daily devotional book that we read from, with a scripture and a Christmas hymn, and a story that generally focuses on service, and that’s a great way to end of the day with the family. I wanted to share this video that just came out that I just saw.

The first gift of Christmas was a simple gift given by a father to all his children, to us. He gave us His son, the Christ. He is the gift.

I wanted to share this short video, because I think it is so powerful, with a simple message about what we need to remember during the Christmas holidays. We get so caught up in so many other things, it’s important to be still and remember.

The First Gift of Christmas

The Reason for the season

If you’d like more Christmas goodness, tune in with me tonight at 7pm Central for a Christmas devotional by some inspired leaders. I just saw that my bestie’s mama is speaking, now I’m even more excited!  You can watch on YouTube live or TV, see this link for more info. The devotional will include seasonal music and inspiring messages on how to make the Savior the center focus of the season. Here is a very short snippet of what it will share.

I’d love to hear how you make the Savior the focus of your holiday celebrations! (click on my blog post title to comment.)
