Secret Santa Gift Tags – These festive printable secret Santa gift tags and tips will help make your secret Santa gift exchange a success
I love a good Secret Santa gift exchange and it is even more fun when you have a big group that wants to participate. I love having Secret Santa’s in my high school seminary Bible Study class, so I had my fab designer Jessika whip up some fun gift tags for them to use. And you can use them too!
If you are planning a Secret Santa gift exchange, here are a few tips I’ve found helpful.
This post from Thrifter in Disguise was full of great Secret Santa tips. Also, it led me to a few other resources.
I decided that for our class, we would do “free” or $1 or less gifts. The $1 dollar store has a ton of cute stuff, socks, ties, ornaments, treat containers, that I thought it’d be easy enough. I also decided that with 11 boys and 14 girls in our class, the boys would all choose from a bowl of girl names. I thought boy buying for boy would be awkward (and less productive), but a few girls can buy for each other.
Ideas I shared with my class:
- Holiday Treat (cute Christmas tins at $1 store)
- $1 frame with Christmas printable quote found online
- $1 store tie, socks, reindeer antlers, etc.
- Draw the persons name in a decorative way
- Christmas Ornament ($1 store) or handmade
In the research, I’ve found two Secret Santa tips to keep in mind:
- Tip #1: Don’t go over the set amount, people feel awkward and guilty that they didn’t. Stick to the set price for fairness.
- Tip #2: Don’t be the lame person that doesn’t do anything. That’s no fun for anyone. Plus it will make someone very sad and wonder why they didn’t get gifts.
It’s just a fun thing to do at holiday time, so have fun with it!
