Weight Loss Solutions are screaming at us from every corner, and I don’t know about you, but I’ve often felt overwhelmed and not always sure where to start.
{2011 above}
Weight Loss Solutions range from tips on what we eat to how we exercise with a million different ways we can do it. When I had my quick weight loss 5 years ago, I just knew I needed something drastic to kickstart my health. I know “people” always say to be patient with the process, take it slow, yadda yadda, but I wasn’t interested in that. What I WISH I would have done, and I encourage others to do, is to consult with a nutritionist. It’s like a therapist for healthy living. They can help make a plan.
I’ve partnered with MinuteClinic® to share this post, and about the programs they offer.
Did you even know that CVS MinuteClinic® had a Weight Loss Program??? I didn’t!
The best thing about their services (in my opinion)? No appointments needed! Sometimes, when we are at our breaking point, we don’t have the mental energy to place a phone call, make an appointment, or wait to be called back. We need help NOW! I know, I’ve been there.
Now I will say, not every CVS had this option, so it helps to get online and search by your zip code to see which location has this service.
Here are a few points you can expect from this service:
- The Weight Loss Program at MinuteClinic® is another initiative CVS has introduced to help customers be more proactive about their health.
- MinuteClinic is partnered with DASH for Health and all nutritional advice is based on the DASH diet.
- Through the MinuteClinic® weight loss program, you’re able to meet with a nurse practitioner to help set goals, offer advice and be a resource during your weight loss journey.
- In addition to the nutritional advice and online tools you’ll get with DASH for Health, a nurse practitioner will check your vitals and offer insight from a medical perspective.
Set goals…now there is a novel idea!
Here are some pictures of me at my heaviest, right after I had my last baby (2009). It was Mother’s Day, and I was looking over the gifts my kids made for me. I tipped over 200 lbs. pregnant, I don’t think I even know what I weighed after, at least 7 lbs. less!
I cropped the below picture to put on my family blog all those years ago, because I didn’t like what was going on around my waist. Clearly, I had a weeks old baby!
Like I mentioned above, I didn’t realize that CVS MinuteClinic® has nutritional therapists, I wanted to share a few other things they have there that I didn’t know.
- Women’s health – MinuteClinic offers birth control care, HPV vaccines, treatment for UTIs and more.
- Skin care – From a bad acne break-out to an unexpected rash, patients can stop by a MinuteClinic for treatment without worrying about taking a sick day.
- Start to Stop ® smoking cessation– Studies show that smokers assisted by a health care provider have a greater chance of quitting smoking. MinuteClinic created this program that includes a 1-on-1 consultation and ongoing coaching to help kick the habit.
- Travel health – Patients can be advised on motion sickness prevention or receive a pre-travel consultation that can include vaccinations for traveling abroad.
Has anyone ever visited a nutritionist to make a plan for weight loss? I’d love to hear your experience.
