Christmas Cream Cheese Cupcakes

I’m so excited to share this Christmas version of our family favorite cupcakes, these delicious Christmas Cream Cheese Cupcakes , all ready for the holidays!  It’s got a rich chocolate base and a center of chocolate chip filled cream cheese right on top.

My kids were pretty delighted to encounter this Christmas version. Bright and colorful and fun! I’m all about festive treats to Christmas parties, this is perfect for any holiday gathering.

Here is the simple recipe:

Ingredients
  • Filling:
  • 8 oz. cream cheese room temp
  • cup sugar
  • 1 egg room temp or clumps cream cheese
  • tsp salt
  • green food coloring
  • cake:
  • cup flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 1 T vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup sugar
  • cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup red chocolate chips
  • 1 cup other chocolate chips semi
Instructions
  1. Set oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix the filling, turn green, and set aside.
  3. Mix dry cake ingredients together and then add the oil, vinegar, and vanilla.
  4. Pour the water over everything and mix with electric beaters.
  5. Fill cupcake liners half full of cake batter.
  6. Mix batter with brown chocolate chips or other
  7. Drop a heaping tablespoon of filling into the center of the chocolate batter.
  8. Top with 1 cup red chocolate chips sprinkled
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
  10. Eat warm and gooey or put them in the fridge to chill for a more textured taste.
  11. Makes 15-18 cupcakes
