For those that don’t know, I proclaimed at the beginning of the year, a goal to work on a room a month in my home. I had so many partially “done” rooms, but couldn’t get the gumption to just call them DONE! As you can see from my Home Tour, I’d done pretty well. I was on a roll with my plan until mid July when we had some family move in with us, and my home projects have just dwindled a bit. BUT, I have decided that by next Wednesday, my home office is coming up on the blog whether I like it or not! I’ve given sneak peeks on Instagram, and really this room was painted very first in my home (a year and a half ago) and I’ve had it 85% done since then, just a few things need to get in place. I added a touch of whimsy to the space, that I’m sharing today in the form of a Hot Air Balloon craft.
I saw a similar idea at Crafts Unleashed, and just added my own little spin to it. Mine is just a bit more…well…whimsical. That’s fancy for “messy.” Ha! I kinda like the messy look, it works for me. Or maybe instead of messy, it can be called haphazard? I like whimsy, so I’ll stick with that. It seems more intentional, and really it is intentional. I love the strawberry basket at the bottom. I used leftover fabric strips that I had from my daughters Lalaloopsy party a while ago.
See the link above for the original tutorial, not a step by step today, just a show and tell.
Now for a little size comparison:
She’s so patient with me;)
Here it is in my office on the ceiling:
And one more because I like it:
So what word would you describe it? My husband had no words…but it’s ok, I love it!!
