Last year, for our fall family photos, we went to our favorite pumpkin patch (SweetBerryFarm.com) and took them in a corn field. We go nearly every year to do the corn maze, and I was so happy to document a special place for us.
I’m so grateful that my friend Cherie Hogan was willing to travel the hour to take them for us. I had taken her family pictures the previous year on a trade, and she reminded me that “she owed me” and she had never taken her family to the patch, so it was a WIN for both of us! The corn maze pictures aren’t just a cool spot, but a tradition for our family.
This particular pumpkin patch does not have an entry fee, but you pay per event. We always come just to do the maze, and it’s like a scavenger hunt. It takes a good hour, as we all have punch cards, and we have to find certain stations within the corn maze, and it’s pretty tricky!
I wrote in a recent newsletter to my subscribers that I was sad my kids didn’t really feel like going this year to the corn maze. I thought I was ok with that, then on the day I wanted to go, we just cleaned the house and didn’t do much else and I got SAD! A reminder that my family is growing up and changing and I need to adapt. Next year though, we are for sure going, my oldest will be a SENIOR in high school!
There are about 300 pictures I had to choose from in these fall family photos, but I’ll narrow it down to my favorite favorites, so you can get pose ideas, and what to wear in fall pictures clothing ideas in case you’d like to do similar. I don’t have links to the clothes, they are all last year anyway, but I do a lot of shopping at Old Navy, Target, and Wal Mart for basics. I also REALLY love what Amazon has to offer for clothes.
I WISH we were there just a touch earlier, because we couldn’t do a whole lot with the sun coming just over the corn when we started. Cherie did her best, I still LOVE them and just printed a family photo session album, so it makes me love them all over again.
