This Frozen birthday party we had for my youngest last month is filled with fun ideas, activities, food, Frozen party printables, Frozen photo booth printables and even a visit from Elsa, Anna, & Olaf!
I TRULY love pulling together party details, and though it may be “over the top” it’s my artistic expression, and my girls just LOVE it! (My boys care less as they’ve gotten older, so we do other fun things). I already shared her photo shoot in her Elsa dress, Frozen lunch jokes, and the prints above, now I’m sharing all the rest of the details!!
I really love setting up a tablescape. It’s like pulling together clothes for family pictures, and as I do it more, it becomes more instinctive how to place things aesthetically. Colors were turquoise and silver, and my friend Debra made this beautiful tablecloth, similar to the one she made for the Pretty Purple Party a few years ago. I LOVE decorating with color! Plus, as I wrote in this 10 tips for throwing a DIY party post, I’ve collected a few white and silver and clear dishes, and use them over and over.
I also got blue candy from Amazon and some on Oriental Trading. Lots of good snowflake goodness also on Amazon.
Here is a little close up on the cake.
My daughter was very excited about the ice cream cake I made, and so was I, until I tried to shove in the crystal suckers. We had to wait for it to soften, but not so much that it melted! Cool whip frosting was super easy!
We made some snowflake peanut butter and jelly sandwiches made with a snowflake cookie cutter, and had Frozen Jelly Belly’s . I used blue mason jars (that I’m slightly obsessed with collecting) in the decorations, too! (Have you seen the Mason Jar Party I threw for my grandparents 90th?)
I decorated the mantle with some of the pictures I’d taken of her the week before in he Elsa costume. Because, if you know me, you know I’m a big fan of decorating with pictures in all aspects of life!
I had my friend make some pretty cupcakes, because I can’t make frosting look pretty for the life of me (Grab the Frozen Happy Birthday Printable Banner on the link)
I made these ice block jell-o treats from a recipe I found online HERE
I looked all over Pinterest for Frozen party ideas, and grabbed the few things that I thought she’d love. I like to make the party a surprise event for my kids, too, so don’t reveal too much, but surely take requests.
We started with my older daughter reading a FROZEN book for the kids. It’s was a great gathering activity while we waited for later comers to trickle in.
We then took some pictures in front of the ice castle my husband built out of our trusty PVC pipe collection (he loves to build blanket forts with them). I asked the girls to wear FROZEN paraphernalia on the invite, and they did great! Originally saw the idea here.
My neighbor made an Olaf costume for her daughter’s Frozen party a few months ago, and kindly lent it to us. My 2nd son was more than happy to wear it (seriously, he thought it was fun)!
Here is Olaf up close…isn’t he cute? She made the head out of a giant piece of foam, and cut out the openings.
The crowning event of the whole shin-dig is when we got a visit from Elsa and Anna!
My girl was SO surprised!
They were so sweet with my girl!
I loved how attentive they were to her
Everyone needs an Elsa and Anna!
Had to do some silly pics, too
And then Olaf had to jump in
Then, I had to jump in with my oldest daughter, couldn’t miss this celebrity selfie
I mean, look at these two
Stinkin’ adorable.
They couldn’t stay long, they had to head back to Arendale to attend to their duties.
After they left, we broke characters out of ice (original idea here).
Played a little Pin the Nose on Olaf (grab this printable and other decor prints on the Frozen Party Printables post)
Took some more pictures with the photo booth
Here we have Olaf and Elsa posing in front of the party table.
And Elsa striking her pose
I love showering my girl with fun for something she loves, on her birthday. Her friends seemed to enjoy it, too!
I kind of require our entire family to be present and support each other at parties, and may have a bit of a dress code for them, too.
Thanks for visiting our Frozen Birthday Party! If you think you’d like to use some ideas later, or maybe friends would love it, I’d love for you to PIN or share it!
