My Master Bedroom Makeover has soft turquoise and pale yellow accents along with our homemade bed in silver. The perfect oasis to relax at the end of the day.
My husband built our homemade bed almost 2 years ago, drapes hung a year ago, walls/ceiling painted 8 months ago, it was simply the finishing touches that I just couldn’t seem to hammer down. I dedicated the month of April to finish, and I did! My goal this year is to tackle a room a month.
Last January, we worked on my boys room reveal.
Working in the months of February/March it was my girls Fancy room (it needed two months).
April was dedicated to the Master Bedroom Makeover.
DIY Bedroom Makeover
Having heard once that a Master bedroom should be a retreat with no pictures of your kids. I took that to heart and included images from trips my hubby and I took together (Alaska, Vermont, France), and only placed pictures of the two of us throughout the years around the room.
How about some BEFORE & AFTER’s of our Master Bedroom Makeover? I used some of the same elements from before, just re-purposed them! Notice the giraffe’s in the corner (hint: they went from brown to white)
All I could locate were low res files, so these images are slightly pixelated…
Decorating with Pictures
Decorating with pictures is my favorite, and I included some wedding images in our Master Bedroom Makeover in various spots.
This heart fingerprint art tutorial is linked at the bottom of this post.
Photography displayed from our couples travel adventures.
The giraffes look so much better painted white, in my opinion.

There isn’t anything too fancy or exciting DIY wise in this room. The colors are pretty trendy online right now, but I love it. It it is calm and relaxing and I hope I can keep it clean!
Here is a quick little video snippet so you can get a feel for the room as a whole:
