It is time to start thinking about your Halloween decorations! My daughter and I got a little crafty when we made this Hexagon Halloween Backdrop with glitter cardstock. It adds the perfect pop of color on the mantel behind my Halloween decor.
I LOVE the look of these hexagon’s. My awesome daughter loved punching them out with the glitter cardstock! I got the glitter paper at my local craft store, but also see some on Amazon.
Tools you’ll need:
- 16×20 craft canvas
- hexagon shape punch
- 4–12×12 glitter cardstock paper
- Adhesive (I used hot glue)
I first used black spray paint to spray my white canvas black. The dark color helped make the connections of the hexagon shapes look more seamless.
Since the glitter paper is a bit thicker, it was tricky to punch out all the shapes, but my 10 year old daughter did it! She loves crafting and had so much fun doing this project. I’ll admit, I wasn’t sad that I didn’t have to punch out all of those hexagons myself.
This is perfect as a backdrop for my Halloween decorations, but you could make it a little larger and it would be a fun Halloween backdrop for your photos. Throw in some Halloween Photo Booth props and you have a winning combination for any Halloween party!
Here I used the Hexagon Halloween background to take pictures of this fun family of little ghosts.

I originally shared them, as a guest at the Eighteen25 Spooktacular September.
I love adding pops of color into holidays, and bring out the less used green and purple for Halloween.
I pretty much want to make a glitter hexagon canvas for every holiday now! I haven’t quite decorated my mantel yet, but anxious to see how it will all fit together.
